I am a fine artist, a spiritual worker, and a teacher.
All of Mugwort Media engages the human experience in this context: being present in a living human animal body, and honoring this expression as a single perspective amongst billions of other ways of being.
Doors of perception open fully when we remove human hierarchy from the way we choose to relate.
Mugwort is a guide.
Simply put, mugwort is good medicine.
Mugwort refers commonly to any plant in the Artemisia family, the most common being Artemisia Vulgaris.
Artemisia is a dreaming herb, an herb of the Otherworld (from Celtic lore; the mytho-poetic reality of ancestors, faeries and gods parallel to our own)
Mugwort is cleansing, bitter, and powerful; in tea she can start a menstrual cycle and end a digestive imbalance. Extracted in an oil, she can relieve pain. And as mentioned, Mugwort can banish negative dream states as well as promote lucid dreaming. I use Mugwort for trance, for energetic clearing, and to honor my ancestors who used Mugwort the same way I do today.
Media refers to the containers I make my work in. I am a fine artist, a spiritual worker, and a teacher. I make a podcast, zines, books, oracle decks, classes, and other spiritual tools. My work focuses on sharing practices toward liberation for all beings.
You might be here for my artwork, the podcast, my writing, or services (tarot readings, spellwork, guidance…) but regardless, thank you for visiting!
I hope we continue to cross paths, and that we make ourselves richer in experience and nourishment each time we do so.
As an artist, I live for transformation through creativity as a spiritual practice
& spirituality as a creative practice.
I illustrate new cosmologies for modern mythology and meaning-making. I make art for pleasure. I make art to honor grief. I make art that feels good or deep or both.
As a healer I cultivate radical creativity and collaboration, in and with myself, with others, and with Spirit(s). As a podcaster I create content that questions human-made cultural, social and economic structures through the lens of animistic spirituality.
I propose a liberatory earth medicine.
There’s this colonial ideology (I source this framework from Eve Tuck and K. Wayne Yang in Decolonization is Not a Metaphor) that human beings are a blight on “Nature;” that we’re separate inherently. Let’s reject and redirect ourselves toward truth.
I propose a Liberatory Earth Medicine:
Thank you for visiting. I hope we can be comrades in this work.
